Casa Elum Pavilion & Resort in Marilao, Bulacan

Casa Elum Pavilion Resort is a humble yet considerably decent "resort" you can visit in Marilao, Bulacan.

Bulacan as a home of multiple resorts
Ever since I can remember, Bulacan has been well-known for affordable resorts you can find across the province -- resorts that are perfect for simple family or barkada excursions.

Also, with its short proximity from the Metro, Bulacan indeed became a convenient getaway (as short as 45 minutes depending on which part of the province you're heading).

The downside of Bulacan resorts
Unfortunately, Bulacan is mostly known for its humble (which may be a form of euphemism) resorts. In other words, expect nothing grand or fancy in more than majority of resorts found in the province. After all, resorts here are not pricey, so you'll just get what you'll pay for.

Casa Elum in Marilao, Bulacan
Casa Elum happens to be one of those resorts. It's tucked within the streets of Marilao, Bulacan (the nearest to Metro Manila). Two of the landmarks to assist in locating the place are: (1) NLEX entrance going to Manila and (2) the famous Rosalie's where you can buy the all-famous puto, bibingka, cassava and etc.

Swimming pools
There are three (3) pool areas within the premises of Casa Elum. Two of which are more for the kids, while the third one is more for the adults and/or those who want to lap.

Pools are generally decent, but may be too crowded during peak months.

It's important to note that most resorts in Bulacan do not implement a strict policy regarding swimming attire. Expect seeing people in their cotton shirts and jersey shorts.

Cottages and rooms
Cottages are very simple and may be unappealing for some. You can rent cage-like cottages (as shown in the photo below) or just rent a space in the more common area (i.e. benches and tables).

If in case you are planning to stay overnight in the resort, there are rooms available as well.

Other facilities/amenities
You'll come across volleyball and basketball courts (one each), playground, billiards and karaoke machines. There is no rental fee for the courts, but you have to bring your own balls. Billiards are rented at an hourly rate (but during our latest visit, these were being subjected to repairs). Karaoke machines need P5 for each song.

Casa Elum Pavilion & Resort Quick Guide

Famous for: Budget-friendly resort fun

Budget needed: at least P300 each to account for the entrance fee, cottage rental and food

Is it wander-worthy? There is honestly nothing wander-worthy about the place, but if you are looking for accessible resort that is within the budget, well, this may be a tolerable option.

How to get there: We took a car going here in Casa Elum, but I know you can take a jeepney to this resort. Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with that option.
